We have invested in technology to provide the absolute best-in-class care for Ocular Surface Disease (Dry Eye Syndrome and related conditions). Research has found that traditional treatments of artificial tears and home remedies often do not provide long term relief and allow the condition to progress to more severe stages. While some traditional treatments can help maintain comfort when combined with new technological advances they do not treat Ocular Surface Disease.
To maximize your comfort, clarity, and confidence, Dr. Cline will recommend a customized treatment plan. Every patient is unique and their treatments will be as well. Your plan will be tailored to you and may change over time. If you have questions we please ask us anytime!
Advanced Treatments take place in our Dry Eye Spa- We will perform medical treatments in a spa environment for your comfort and relaxation. Everyone deserves to feel pampered so we do what we can to make that happen!
Optilight is the first and only FDA approved IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) treatment for Ocular Surface Disease. This advanced technology treats the root cause of ocular surface disease - INFLAMMATION - with a very specific and proven combination of pulsed light energy. Not only does it create long lasting results, it actually helps regenerate the very important meibomian glands necessary to produce good quality tears.
MiboFlo is a thermal treatment that aids in clearing the meibomian glands of blockages, decreasing inflammation, and improving the quality of your natural tears for immediate relief. This technology provides a constant and controlled heat massage to the meibomian glands that cannot be accomplished with home therapy masks. It does not have any side effects, is comfortable and soothing.
The Zest Treatment provides a “deep clean” for stubborn biofilm buildup along the lids and lashes to give you an immediate fresh feeling and provide better results with other advanced treatments.
Sometimes, prescription medication is necessary to fully manage Ocular Surface Disease. There are many options that range from short term steroid eye drops to long-term inflammatory modulating drops and even nasal sprays. Dr. Cline will discuss these options with you if needed to determine the best treatment for you.
Customized Home Maintenance Therapies:
There are A LOT of products available online and in stores and it can be very discouraging and overwhelming to pick which is right for you. Unfortunately many of these products are not well regulated and do not always do what they claim. Your Dry Eye Evaluation will allow Dr. Cline to determine what is causing your symptoms and provide the best recommendations for you. Her recommendations are based on clinical research, consultation with leading Dry Eye experts, and over 15 years of professional experience with dry eye patients. You no longer need to spend money on random products in hopes that they may work. You will be given a treatment plan tailored to your health history, your symptoms, and your needs.
Your treatment plan may include some of the following:
Lid Cleanser with Tea Tree Oil cleans the biofilm created by bacteria on the lids and lashes, decreases inflammation, and allows the oil glands to function properly.
Hypochlorous spray improves the comfort and health of the eyes by decreasing inflammation and treating excess bacteria.
Heat compresses with a microwaveable or USB heat mask thins the oil in the lids and allows it to express more naturally which creates better quality tears.
Triglyceride Omega 3 Supplements improve the quality of tears and decrease inflammation on the ocular surface.
Preservative Free Artificial Tears provide comfort and clearer, more consistent vision.
We'll work with you to make a customized plan of action that works with your needs. Every patient comes to us with different challenges so we take the time to discuss options and find a solution that will work for you. Some patients are more interested in office treatments to free them up at home. Some patients prefer to do more self care at home. Some patients want a plan as natural as possible. Some patients need immediate relief, some are looking for long term solutions and some are looking to prevent symptoms all together. All of these plans look different and we will work with you to find the best fit for your condition and needs.
